Happy Father's Day....Dallin?

Sunday morning we woke to find this in the hamster cage...
Evidently his three female hamsters were not all female! Surprise! There were three live babies (One had died and one of the adult hamsters was dead too. We think the other adults killed it...seriously something is wrong with hamsters.).  So Dallin was the proud owner of two adults and three babies.
Until today!  We heard some squeaking and peeked in and there are at least 6 babies in there!!
They are hard to find and the adults (don't know if they are females or what) hide them or cover them so we don't have an exact count, but it's a whole bunch of them!

Dallin is so excited! He gets upset when people get too close to the cage or try to mess with them.  He's really attentive and makes sure they have plenty of food and water and cage material.

He's a great dad! Hee hee

Love these cute neighborhood boys and their mom that is so willing to let them come play.

It's only the middle of June and these boys have logged hundreds of hours of pool time already.

Nothing better than an Arizona summer with a pool!

Maura and her friend McKinsey.
We sure love that friendships last even when we don't get to see them as often as we would like! Happily these two friends get to go to school together this fall! Yipee!!

Swim Team is Dangerous!

Every time (okay, we've only been twice) we go to Dallin's swim meet Maura gets hurt.
The first time she fell on the bleachers and cut open her head and ear.
The second time she got poked in the eye...and ended up with pink eye.

You can't see it, but she's got quite a scratch in her right eye...it's all red and yucky. The next morning she woke up and it was swolen and gooey.  The day after that her left eye started to get yucky.
She wakes up with her eyes glued together and gets freaked out because she can't open them.
We've got some drops now and it's starting to clear up.  She's milking it for all it's worth..."Mom, can I have a treat because I have pink eye?"...ha ha!
As for swimming....Dallin did great!  He really enjoys it!
We love that there are neighborhood boys that all go together and compete against each other.  I enjoy sitting in the bleachers with all the parents and cheering on our boys!

Next time, though, I don't think we are going to bring Maura...
Slip 'N Slide!

This is one of my very favorite neighborhood activities.  I say neighborhood, because no matter who organizes it, the entire neighborhood shows up and even a few random park visitors take a turn.

There were plenty of girls to slide with...

 and boys...
 and moms!

Running back up the hill is the best exercise ever!
 Then here we go again!

Wahoo! Love that slip 'n slide!

Cowgirl Maura at Dallin's school carnival!

Our cute friend Annika dropped this picture off the other day. Evidently Annika had some extra tickets and paid for Mookie to get her picture taken.  So nice! Thanks!
Happy Birthday Kevin!

Katie, Kevin and the kids came to spend a little time with us this past weekend.  They swam one day and then we ate dinner on Sunday and did a lot of this:

Oh, and we ate cupcakes too!

Maura did some dressing up and then hugged on Rino.

The best part was hugging on little Damien.  He is super cute and a sweet, sweet baby! He's a month old now and Maura loves cuddling him!

Not sure why I didn't get pictures of Adell in the pool and eating popsicles with us! ARRRGH!  Falling down on my job.

It was fun to just hang out with them and celebrating Kevin's birthday!
